AN ANXIOUS Girl’s Guide to REGULATING YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM.

At Wickham St Studios, we’re all about helping you reconnect with yourSELF through mindful movement, Pilates, breathwork
AND YOGA. SO When you're FEELING anxious, overwhelmed or STRESSED, try these 3 somatic practices to reset your
nervous system, NATURALLY.

1. BREATHE

First notice your breath, then slow it down.
Longer exhales tELL your body you're safe and help
shift you out of that anxious “fight or flight” state.

TRY THIS: Try BOX Breathing
inhale 4 secs → hold 4 secs → exhale 4 secs → hold 4 secs

you can shorten the count as needed. Just focus on creating a smooth, steady rhythm.

2. GROUND

When your thoughts are racing, grounding helps you come back into your body.

It’s about reconnecting to the present moment and feeling the physical support beneath you.

Try this: Stand tall in Mountain Pose, fold forward and feel the floor under your feet, or rest in Child’s Pose and focus on where your body meets the mat.

These simple grounding techniques can be done anywhere.at home, in class, or between meetings and are powerful for stress relief and mindfulness.

3. MOVE

Intentional movement helps regulate your nervous system, release anxious energy, and reconnect you with yourself.

It doesn’t need to be intense, it just needs to be mindful.

Try this: Roll through your neck, shake out your arms, or flow through a gentle yoga or Pilates class.

If you’re local, join us at Wickham St Studios for
Pilates in Newcastle. our classes are designed to help you slow down, strengthen, and find balance through mindful, somatic movement.

You don’t need a full reset to SHIFT YOUR ENERGY AND feel better,
just a few mindful moments each day. Breathe, ground, and move.
Repeat when life feels too loud.
